After last year’s successful clothes sale to raise money for Cancer Research, picking this charity again was an easy decision. Having people close to me diagnosed with/or sadly losing their battle with cancer was a great reason for me to raise money, donate unwanted clothes/gifts and raise awareness of this fantastic charity.

Cancer Research is the worlds largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Their vision is clear – to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Studies show every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer, making this a disease we all want to beat and fast. Cancer Research’s aim is – together we WILL beat cancer.

From speaking with my local Cancer Research shop last year, I knew I wouldn’t be able to give my time by helping in store; however, they are hugely grateful for any donations – big or small. Having asked the Beans to rummage at home and bring in clothing they no longer wanted or needed, we soon filled our tiny little ‘Quiet Room’ with a large amount of clothes! I then held a ‘Jellybean Jumble Sale’, where the clothing donations could be purchased with all the money raised would be given to Cancer Research.

The ‘Jellybean Jumble Sale’ was a great success – as well as raising some money for the charity, I was also able to donate bags and bags of clothes to my local Cancer Research shop.

Being a part of Jellybean’s 12 Days of Giving is truly eye-opening and allows us to see how donating something as simple as items of clothing, can make such a difference to charities.

Cancer Research have various ways of ‘getting involved’ with the charity, from events to volunteering and fundraising, or simply donating a sum of money. To find out more about the charity and how you can help, please visit www.cancerresearchuk.org.
