Foodservice quality food awards 2017
Having spent a very enjoyable day judging back in July, I was excited head up to The Grosvenor House Hotel last night to see the winners of the Foodservice Quality Food Awards of the collect their rather impressive βQβs. With bubbles flowing and guests filling up the event room there was a definite air of anticipation, as those shortlisted waited for the results to be revealed.
Helen Lyons & Kim Reddick led the proceedings, addressing a packed room eager to hear who had come out on top. The awards covered every conceivable category from Christmas to free-from, grab & go to meat-free and everything in between. We were delighted for our lovely client The Real Soup Company who won the soup category and the Gold Foodservice Q Award – quite some achievement with such stiff competition.
Other Gold Q winners included Brakes M&J Seafood for Innovation, with their Seafood Mac & Cheese Smoked MSC Haddock Fish Cakes (quite a mouthful in itself!). The Simply Lunch Veggie New Yorker Farmhouse Bloomer picked up Grab & Go Gold Q & Gold Q Winner. The Small Producer Gold Q went to 108 Foods Chocolate Hazelnut Tea Biscuit – Rhythm 108. While the Christmas Gold Q saw Brakes triumph again with their Gluten Free Stuffed Turkey Ballotine.
Once the Foodservice Quality Food Q Awards drew to a close it was then on to the Local Shop Quality Food and Drink Awards, where Spar swept the board with the majority of wins. Goodie bag in hand it was then time to head to the Great Room for the Retail Industry Awards.
