We were lucky enough to attend the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs Awards on Thursday evening, and what an evening it was. Black tie all round, fantastic food and wine (as you’d expect) and of course a great crowd of chefs and industry fellows alike.

The night, which is held by the Guild to reward and celebrate the hospitality industry’s leading talent across all sectors, began with a procession of the finalists in each category all introduced by the lovely Matt Tebbutt. I thought this was a nice touch, as even to make it as a finalist is an achievement in itself and deserves recognition.

The award categories range from ‘apprentice chef award’ to ‘new restaurant of the year’ and really do showcase and reward all facets of the chef world. For details on all the awards and their winners, visit .

I always feel like we’re part of such a genuine community when we attend events such as this and it’s a great opportunity to meet some of the best chefs around when they’re relaxed and letting their hair down (and we all know they like to let their hair down).

A big thanks to the team at Westminster Park Plaza for their fantastic hospitality and to Dewberry Redpoint for hosting our table and of course congratulations to all the nominees and winners.
