National Burger Awards – 20th February 2024
Burger fanatics, talented chefs and of course, a number of us beans found ourselves travelling to the Big Penny Social in North London for the hotly anticipated 10th National Burger Awards. Hosted by DJ BBQ, and organised by Dine Out Magazine, the event promised talent, passion and camaraderie.
Guests were treated to a range of delicacies, with sides from Urban Foodservice, featuring the delicious PEPPADEW® Bites, a Pepsi Cocktail Bar, wine from Greasy Fingers and of course, burgers – from beef brisket and bacon to plant-based offerings, all gratefully received by us bunch of hungry beans.
Berenjak: A Review
Packed inside the bustling streets of Borough Market, you’ll find Berenjak, a Persian restaurant, inspired by the home-cooked, family dining occasions often found in the Alborz Mountains. This compact restaurant, complete with dimmed lighting and beautiful décor came highly recommended, and it’s not hard to see why.
Lumina intelligence Eating Out Debrief q4 2023
As a leading food and drink agency, we make it our business to keep up to date with the latest eating out trends. The Lumina Foodservice Strategy Forum is always an informative session, packed with a wealth of data on the out-of-home market, upcoming trends and consumer behaviour.

Below are our key takeouts from the day:
World Vegan Month… and beyond!
As you may have heard, November marked World Vegan Month, and as Veganuary is just around the corner as well, the need for inspirational, and flavourful plant-based meals you can cook at home has never been higher.
We’ve already delved into why plant-based menu options are here to stay in hospitality.
But, if you’re looking for inspiration for at-home, read on!
A foodie’s guide around Madrid
After a turbulent start (and not just in the air), myself and Caitlin (not a joke) landed in Madrid to a government alert ping informing us of a flood threat, and asking us to remain indoors. What occurred next was a mild panic, and an amateur recreation of The Devil Wears Prada, us echoing the notorious Miranda Priestly standing in a stormy window re-arranging plans.
All Rhodes Lead to… (sorry)
Having just returned from the very beautiful, and very hot, island of Rhodes, I thought I’d share with you some of my foodie favourites from this trip.
Landing at noon, thanks to a very early 6am flight (delightful), we sat down at our hotel’s bar to enjoy a delicious lunch of frozen margaritas and for myself, a Feta sandwich. As a self-proclaimed Feta cheese fan, I was not left disappointed when what appeared to be a whole packet appeared on my plate. This was the start of what I can imagine were a great few days for my sister, as I would exclaim with excitement ‘oooh Feta’ every time I saw a Greek salad on a menu.
World Gin Day
World Gin Day falls on the 10th of June this year, and here at jellybean we’ve gathered some our beans’ favourite gin-dulgent drinks to give you some inspiration for this boozy day.
Cheers!
A hungry girl’s guide around Borough Market
In celebration of my mum’s ‘Big Birthday’, we started off her London city break in the foodie hotspot of Borough Market. Below you can find a whistle stop tour of my favourite foodie stands and a few recommendations for your next visit!
For us, a visit to the market starts at Monmouth Coffee Shop. In all the times I’ve visited, I’ve never escaped the mass of coffee-lovers outside, and so we do what the British do best, and joined the queue. In a move to become more sustainable, they no longer use single-use takeaway cups, so if you want to walk around, it’s best to take your own flask!
