As part of the Jellybean 12 days of Christmas, the charity I have chosen to donate to is Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan Cancer Support is made up  of millions of supporters, professionals, volunteers, and campaigners – together they make sure cancer patients are treated like a person, not just a patient. They strive to make sure that individuals get the support they need to live life as fully as they can.

Whether patients need help paying bills, advice on benefits or treatment, or just need a friendly face to chat to, Macmillan is there. They provide emotional and physical support as well as financial and practical support.

Choosing Macmillan Cancer Support as my charity was a no brainer. Having people close to me diagnosed with/or sadly losing their battle with cancer was tough but knowing there was a support system beyond family for both patient and relatives was really reassuring and a great reason to raise money and create awareness of the charity.

Studies show there are now more than 200 different types of cancer and 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer within their lifetime, making this a disease we all want to beat. Macmillan have various ways of ‘getting involved’ with the charity, from events to volunteering and fundraising or simply donating a sum of money.
