For Jellybean’s 12 Days of Giving initiative, I have chosen Battersea Cats and Dogs Home as the charity I would like to support.

For over 150 years, Battersea has been placing the welfare of their animals in the centre of all that they do. It is their vision that every cat and dog should live in a home where they are treated with love, care and respect. The team work relentlessly to ensure that each and every one of the animals in their care finds a home with a loving family.

Battersea is proud to take in animals in need of help and care for them until their forever homes can be found. The team at Battersea is devoted to ensuring the animals that enter the kennels are given the correct medical attention and aftercare they need, ready to start their new lives in a permanent home.

The role in which a pet plays in the family is so valuable and Battersea strive to make sure that every cat and dog is given the opportunity to find their place in someone’s heart and home. In 2006, my family welcomed home a gorgeous 9-month old Border Collie/Labrador Cross who has brightened our lives for 14 glorious years. If it wasn’t for Battersea’s kind and loving nature in caring for him for the months of his stay, we wouldn’t have known a love like the one we have for our boy.
