After the success of last year, I am delighted to kick off our ‘12 Days of Giving’ Christmas charity initiative, when the Jellybean team donates 12 days of our time to various charities that are closest to our hearts. This is on top of the 150+ hours we have already committed throughout the year to help local and industry charities. It is fitting that we launch this annual initiative on the 3rd December to coincide with Giving Tuesday – a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
As a quick reminder GT (Giving Tuesday, not Gin & Tonic) was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. This concept was born to counterbalance the massive consumerism that happens on Black Friday.
During the months of November and December, Jellybean’s 12 Days of Giving involves members of the team helping a wide array of worthwhile causes in a wide variety of ways, using our skills, expertise and sometimes just sheer graft. These range from The British Heart Foundation to Plan International, from Campaign to End Loneliness, from The Leatherhead Youth Project to Children With Special Needs Foundation and of course the hospitality industry charity Hospitality Action. During December you will be able to follow our stories on our blog and social media channels, sharing our experiences across our 12 Days of Giving.
