Who is Chr. Hansen?

Chr. Hansen is a leading, global bioscience company delivering natural innovative solutions that address global challenges by advancing food, health and productivity. We have been working with their Food Cultures & Enzymes (FC&E) division which develops and produces cultures and enzymes for the food industry.

What is the history of the company?

Chr. Hansen was founded in 1874 by Christian D. A. Hansen, making the company over 140 years old. It currently has more than 3,000 employees across 30 countries with its headquarters in Hoersholm, Denmark, just outside of Copenhagen.

What have I have eaten or drunk that they are involved in?

With more than 1 billion people consuming products containing their natural ingredients every day, you will undoubtably have enjoyed something enhanced by Chr. Hansen’s innovative products, possibly even today!  Whether it’s a yogurt drink with probiotics, a low alcohol beer using one of their fermentation solutions, a fermented meat like salami, or a cheese that has been produced using their specialised enzymes and cultures, Chr. Hansen’s products are used in and on millions of products worldwide.

Why are they working with Jellybean?

Chr. Hansen identified that they wanted to work with a specialist food and drink creative comms agency for their global FC&E division. They wanted a partner who could understand their business, share their values and help them market their innovative products. Having met with a number of candidate agencies Chr. Hansen selected Jellybean based on our ability to understand the brief and translate a complex concept into a simple communication, as well as on team chemistry and shared values. Having been appointed as their creative partner Jellybean has spent the past few months working closely with both the marketing team and product specialists in order to create compelling communications across Chr. Hansen’s FC&E division.

How are things going?

Our first project with Chr. Hansen was to create a stand-out and consistent brand look and feel for the FC&E division, which is now being implemented across the business. As well as the core branding project we have been working on an exciting global fermentation launch and on another highly confidential global launch, which we will be able to talk more about later this year. Suffice to say however things are progressing well and our client had this to say…

“We are really pleased that we chose to work with Jellybean. They have taken the time to understand some highly technical products and managed to effectively crystalize the core messaging to ensure we have some strong campaigns for our 2018 and 2019 launches, as well as crucially helping us define our FC&E corporate brand which has been well received by the business.” Wynne Lewis, Global Brand & Marketing Manager – Food Cultures & Enzymes
