Jellybean had the pleasure of attending The National Pub & Bar Awards last night at Bafta in Piccadilly, thanks to H20 publishing. As the leading foodservice agency we’re avid supporters of the pub sector so were grateful for the opportunity to attend an evening dedicated to celebrating the hard working teams in the pub trade. And what a night it was too, mingling with some of the industry’s finest on-trade elite with the bubbles and Budweiser flowing.

Tristan O’Hana, Editor of Pub & Bar, and Nigel Barden, Food & Drink Broadcaster, did a fantastic job of hosting the event, taking us through the very worthy regional winners of 2018:

South West – Port Gaverne Hotel

West Midlands – The Fitzherbert Arms

East Midlands – The Railway at Lowdham

North West – The Church Inn, Mobberley

North East – The South Causey Inn

Yorkshire and the Humber – The Botanist, Sheffield

Wales – The Bull, Beaumaris

Northern Ireland – Walled City Brewery

North East Scotland – The Old Mill Inn

South East Scotland – Innis & Gunn

South West Scotland – WEST on the Green

North West Scotland – The Plockton Hotel

East of England – The White Horse, Brancaster

South East – The White Horse, Chilgrove

London – The Half Moon, Herne Hill

And the much sought after accolade of overall National Pub & Bar Winner 2018 went to a very deserving team at The White Horse in Chilgrove. It was fantastic to see a South East National winner – congratulations from everyone at Jellybean and do keep an eye out for us, we aren’t far away so are sure to be visiting soon, all in the name of industry research of course!

Following the awards the crowd was treated to some fantastic culinary delights – mini bowls of sausage and mash, beetroot and chickpea masala & rice, mini fish croquettes with potato pieces and mushy peas – all delicious and extremely moreish! Bite size Black Forrest Gateaux and pistachio meringues provided a much needed sweet fix and rounded the evening off perfectly.

Many thanks to the team at H20 publishing for putting on such a great event and congratulations again to all of the winners.
