FSM Awards 2014

Public Relations Companies - FSM AwardsTuesday night saw the crème de la crème of the contract catering world, or as it is becoming known, ‘Foodservice Management’ gather at the Lancaster London for the FSM Awards 2014. Of course as the leading foodservice agency we were there to enjoy what is always an excellent event from H20 publishing and FSM magazine. The night was held on Armistice Day and in honour of that fact amongst the audience were Chelsea pensioners and representatives from Help for Heroes, even the starter course was themed in honour of the centenary of the start of WWI as a ‘Lest we forget’ selection.

The night was hosted by the irrepressible Alan Dewberry of H20 and celebrity master of ceremonies Mark Durden-Smith (Judith Charmer’s son) who were accompanied throughout the night by the North London Brass Band playing a rousing range of classics to get everyone’s toes tapping. Then it was on to the business of the evening as top contract caterers offered up a delicious five-course dinner, which was interspersed with winner announcements between courses, covering off everything from Exec Chef of the Year to Innovation and people development, CSR to event catering and of course healthcare (sponsored by our client Pritchitts) to name but a few.

It wasn’t only the nominees who waited with baited breath to see who would win however, as each course was scored by the audience via the interactive keypads at each place-setting. This year the voting was pretty fair and the dessert course from Elior stole the show as overall winner, whilst the Beetroot and Salmon Terrine with English Mustard Starter got Charles Campion’s vote. But with the Twitter wall at both ends of the room everyone could have their say and post their foodie pics, selfies and much more! This included congratulations to the team at H20 and all those there on the night on raising the stunning total of £6,620 for Help for Heroes through the evening’s raffle.

Well done to the team at FSM Magazine and H20 on a great night and of course congratulations must go to all the nominees and winners as well as the sponsors who make the event possible.
