When it comes to food I love trying new dishes and with a huge variety of restaurants in the UK serving up different cuisines from all over the world, we are spoilt for choice when eating out. But according to Travelzoo’s latest survey on eating out preferences, Brits aren’t as adventurous as you may expect.
Bangers and mash, fish and chips and Sunday roasts all top the list of the nation’s favourite foods. The survey on eating out preferences revealed that the British public choose to go to restaurants serving British food over all other cuisines – crowning British food the nation’s favourite!
And according to the findings we Brits are creatures of habit, with 70% of respondents revealing that they have a favourite local restaurant that they regularly visit, and the majority prefer to not travel further than twenty minutes to eat out.
But that doesn’t mean other cuisines have been forgotten about. Indian, Italian, Chinese, Thai, American, Mexican, French and Japanese all feature in the nation’s top ten favourite cuisines when eating out showing that Brits still love the variety of cuisines we have here to choose from.
As a lover of all things foodie, I would struggle to pin down just one favourite cuisine – lucky for me the extent of the UK’s dining offering means we have cuisines from all over the world to choose from!
