As a lover of afternoon tea I will find any excuse I can to experience one, and earlier this month I was lucky enough to find myself enjoying said treat having discovered, what is now my new favourite tearoom, in my home town of Horsham, Sussex.
‘Pretty Little Things’ is a beautifully decorated, vintage style tearoom serving traditional afternoon tea. With an assortment of delicious sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a lovely selection of homemade cakes on the menu, it’s the perfect place for an indulgent lunch or a sweet treat. On my visit, I went for the full works – my favourite part being the lemon and lavender Victoria sponge – delicious!
But there’s something a little different about this particular tearoom. Pretty Little Things is attracting a much wider audience than the usual cake lovers or ‘ladies who lunch’ by offering a special ‘doggie afternoon tea’!
So, much to her delight, my sausage dog Dolly had her very own three tiered stand of doggy-afternoon-tea nibbles, including pate sandwiches, bacon cupcakes and bonios! She was even given her very own vintage china bowl of water.
I can honestly say that the whole experience was a delight and I would highly recommend it for any fellow dog-owning, afternoon tea lovers out there.
If you fancy going for a walk with a difference this weekend, then why not pay this quirky little tearoom a visit, you and your four-legged friend won’t be disappointed!
