Having just returned from two weeks travelling around South and Central Vietnam, I couldn’t wait to get back and spread the word about Hoi An – Vietnam’s epicentre for food lovers.
Hoi An offers an array of fine food eateries and cookery courses, as well as beautiful beaches, to-die-for shops – which make anything from intricate sandals to wedding dresses – plus the most enchanting scenery at night peppered with brightly coloured lanterns and flickering candles. The glorious food is what I’ll remember most, everything is super tasty and costs so little, you really are spoilt for choice – from the beach traders selling warm corn-on-the-cob to the infamous central food market which felt like a sit-down version of Whole Foods with hundreds of plates of delights waiting to be tasted.
My Top Three Must Try Restaurants are:
Morning Glory Street Food Restaurant – Grilled Lime Leaf Marinated Chicken on Skewers
The Market – Tapioca Prawn Dumplings
Mermaid Restaurant – Stuffed Squid with Pork
If I close my eyes I can transport myself back to The Market, where I can honestly still taste the Char Sui Pork Steamed Buns and Tapioca Prawn Dumplings…my mission is to search the streets looking for the closest thing to Hoi An’s Vietnamese food London has to offer!
If you don’t get the chance to travel this beautiful country then spend a relaxing two weeks in Hoi An, with enough restaurants to dine out for many months, it won’t disappoint. Mai mốt gặp lại (We’ll meet again soon)
