National Jellybean DayIn life, every day should be celebrated – we have birthdays, days of remembrance, celebrations and the much loved and sometimes controversial ‘national days’. From ‘National Wear Your Pyjamas to Work Day’ to ‘National Adopt an Animal Day’, everything and everyone gets celebrated throughout the year, and Tuesday of this week was our turn with, National Jellybean Day!

We decided to drum up some exposure for this classic sweet and use it as extra buzz for us as an agency too.

Our #NationalJellybeanDay campaign kicked off two weeks prior to the big day with the launch of our Twitter competition to win a personalised jelly bean machine. We asked our followers – and as a result of generous retweets, the wider world of ‘tweeps’ – what they would love to have sketched on their machine for a chance to win: A slogan? A favourite food? A company logo? A pet?

Over the two week period the campaign received a great response with 79 entries in which creativity flowed and interaction with new and existing followers boomed. A total of 37 new followers were gained as a result of the extra exposure our campaign created.

Congratulations must go to our competition winner, Jackie Chapman who will be receiving a Northern-ised jelly bean machine very soon!

Once the day itself arrived – this Tuesday after a long weekend of well-deserved chocolate eating – it was time to celebrate. And what better way to mark the day than with a jelly bean shaped cake adorning the boardroom table and a room full of beans gathering in anticipation. Apart from a great excuse to socialise with colleagues and devour cake, pizza and of course, jelly beans, our #NationalJellybeanDay party provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate our own successes in 2014 (so far).

We’re very proud of our achievements here at Jellybean and we are honoured to have added the following accolades and accreditations to our name this year:

  • RAR Awards finalist in ‘Market Research’ category (with results announced tonight!)
  • Merit for MAA’s ‘Development of Agency Talent’ award
  • RAR ‘Top 100 Agencies’ outside London

With LinkedIn and Twitter (by the way we recently hit 1,000 followers so a huge thank you to you if you’re one of our lovely, dedicated followers!) providing us with platforms to share our professional work updates as well as news snippets and the more relaxed side of agency life – in 140 characters – we’ve now opened our arms to Instagram – a place where we can delight you with a tantalising album of inspiring food and beverage creations, share our agency experiences and let you see a bit more of the Jellybean personality. Give us a follow, you won’t regret it!

#NationalJellybeanDay also saw the launch of another ongoing Jellybean campaign – ‘#BeanAbout’. We’re very busy at Jellybean HQ with photoshoots, case studies and press launches as well as extravagant events (how lucky we are!). We love sharing our experiences with you so to keep you updated in the world of Jellybean we’ll be taking our trusty orange jellybean ‘out and about’ with us on our travels.
