The Restaurant Show is being held at Earls Court in London from 8-10 October 2012 so Jellybean went along to see what is happening!
As soon as we walked through the doors we were welcomed by the aroma of roasting meats and sweet delights; the Street Food vendors were out in force. On a busy market scene with double yellow lines and scruffy pavements, parked the vendors in their mobile restaurants. From pulled pork belly to fish tacos and sorbet to donuts; in front of us was an urban feast that truly put the ‘street’ in street food.
By lunchtime the Street Food Market was buzzing as was the whole show. Lining the hall exhibitors and speakers shared their wealth of knowledge, advice and services to the eager visitors.
And yesterday, Day 2 of the show brought us the greatly anticipated, Craft Guild of Chefs ‘National Chef of the Year’ award; with Alyn Williams, chef patron of Alyn Williams at the Westbury, deservedly taking first place.
It was a day full of excitement, innovation and great food.
