On the 29th September Google announced to the world that it is launching it’s first ever paid version of it’s popular website analytics programme.
Google Analytics Premiums will open up to webmasters a number of new features including:
Extra processing power – increased data collection, more custom variables and downloadable, unsampled reports
Advanced analysis – attribution modeling tools that allow you to test different models for assigning credit to conversions
Service and support – experts to guide customized installation, and dedicated account management on call – all backed by 24/7 support
Guarantees – service level agreements for data collection, processing and reporting
Aimed squarely at ‘Enterprise’ level customers, Premium is now available to user via Google’s reseller partners which means that at the moment they havn’t gone public with pricing. Read into that what you will.
Paid Analytics solutions have been around for a while now, with some of them (Adobe’s Omniture being a case in point) attracting some very hefty annual subscription fees, and so Google is clearly taking this opportunity to weigh in with the heavyweights in this field and earn some revenue from what has always been a flagship, free product in their range.
