What was your favourite subject at school?
Geography – such a big world and so little time.
What was your best subject at school?
What was your first-ever job?
Age 8 helping the milk man deliver to my neighbourhood in all weathers for very little return
What was your worst ever job?
Stacking shelves in a supermarket – before there were health and safety regulations on what and how you should lift heavy items.
What was the first music single you bought?
Whiter Shade of Pale by Procul Harem and the B side Homburg was pretty good too.
What is the most entrepreneurial thing you have ever done?
It would have to be leaving a great secure job to set up Jellybean 25 years ago, with everything I own on the line. 25 years in foodservice marketing…where do the years go!?
What’s the funniest thing you have ever done to a work colleague?
Either putting 4 extremely heavy telephone directories in the bottom of a colleagues weekend bag when she was travelling by tube and train to Cheshire to meet her holiday romance. This was before the age of mobile phones so no stopping her once she had set off, she got her revenge though and we are still friends to this day…….or putting a pair of scanty white knickers in a colleagues top jacket pocket in place of his standard handkerchief…and attending the same meeting to watch it all unfold – literally.
What is your motto in life?
Carpe Diem but I also think that every individual who thinks they can’t make a difference should remember that “there is not enough darkness in the world to extinguish the light of one candle”.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be?
To have a chef/sommelier who prepares meals matched with wines for me to eat everyday that are nutritious, calorie counted and delicious.
What’s your favourite movie and why?
Shawshank Redemption – it has it all, fantastic story line, cast and direction and highlights all aspects of human life and interaction – unfairness, prejudice, fear, power, abuse, friendship, pain and suffering, kindness, patience, redemption and soul.
If you could pick a celebrity to join the agency who would it be and why?
George Clooney would be too distracting so I have to say Michael Macintyre as I think he would bring his own unique observations and ideas on life and really make me cry with laughter.
What luxury would you have on your desert island?
I don’t know if it’s a luxury but I would have to take Coco (my chocolate Labrador) with me.
What animal best reflects your personality and why?
It would have to be a Labrador as I am loyal, trusting, loving and don’t stop eating.
If you could be anybody in the world (alive or dead) who would you be and why?
Alan Whicker because he got to travel all over the world and meet and interview interesting people.
