Last night Jayne and I put on our party dresses and headed up to the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel for the annual Craft Guild of Chefs Awards.

The glittering awards are considered the chefs’ Oscars and recognise culinary talent from across the foodservice industry. As you can imagine the food was to die for, and 300 guests worked their way through sushi, black cod, guinea hen and a trio of desserts, all matched with complimentary wine for each course.

The evening saw Phillip Howard , Head Chef and co-owner of the two Michelin-starred ‘The Square’ restaurant receive the Special Award and the introduction of a new award, ‘The People’s Choice’ which recognises one of the industry’s unsung heroes and is voted for by the masses.
