Orchids holding spicy gazpacho, dry ice creeping across the table, the tinkle of Champagne glasses and the authoritative tones of Henri Brosi, Executive Chef at the Dorchester – it could only be the exclusive Krug Room!
Last night saw the culmination of Pritchitts Regional Recipes Competition at the Krug Room. The great and the good of Pritchitts were joined by the CEO of the Craft Guild of Chefs, Martin Bates and Sheila Eggleston, Editor of Stockpot Magazine (as well as I’m delighted to say little old me!) to celebrate Bill Cohen, who was selected by Henri himself, as the winner of last year’s Regional Recipes Competition! Bill was joined by his wife Karen for what was truly a once in a lifetime experience at the Krug Room, which famously overlooks the pass at the prestigious Dorchester Hotel.
With every course matched with a complimentary wine and a backdrop of the state of the art kitchen, busy preparing each course, it was a culinary experience to die for and a well deserved reward for Bill’s exceptional recipe entry, which was chosen from the 12 finalists as the overall winner. As Wednesday evenings go, it doesn’t get much more impressive than the Krug Room and hopefully Bill’s success will be an inspiration to his students at Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education where he lectures in Hospitality.
