The Big Jellybean Bake-Off for HA Week

The appeal of wearing underpants on the outside of your trousers or nonchalantly talking on the phone to clients who are oblivious to the fact that you are dressed as Batman is both obvious and highly satisfying.

With Hospitality Action Week just around the corner (16 -22 May) this is the time of year where such behaviour – all in the name of a worthy cause – is actively encouraged.
This year the trade charity has chosen the theme of ‘HA Heroes’ encouraging the foodservice industry to unite as one and swing into action to raise money for those that desperately need our help.

As the dedicated foodservice agency, Jellybean will be actively participating in the week, calling upon every sinew of our culinary skills to organise a full scale charity bake off (underpants and capes optional).

As is the way around here, everyone will be mucking in, and a veritable bevy of homemade sweet and savoury treats have been promised – from plum cake and whoopie pies to sausage rolls and delicious cheese and Marmite tarts (already an established office favourite).

Some have even promised to use the element of surprise to their advantage as the friendly rivalry and fear of baking envy heightens.

Whatever happens, visit the Jellybean blog every day next week for a full rundown on who’s made what, who ate the most and exactly how much weight each of us has individually gained in the process (Not all of these will actually be true.)
