This week the Jellybeans have been out and about on Park Lane three days on the trot! A record even for us! This hat-trick kicked off with the Craft Guild of Chefs Graduates Awards on Monday where the ‘great and the good’ of the world of chefs gathered to honour today’s rising stars. Adjourning to the bar afterwards (where you’ll often find a bean or two!) the Jellybeans enjoyed a glass of wine and a chat with celeb chef Brian Turner and Caterer & Hotelkeeper’s resident blogger, Katherine Alano. This was then followed on Tuesday night by the Bakery Industry Awards where we were delighted to accompany La Pizza, one of the finalists in the Bakery Innovation category and enjoyed an evening of fine food and fine wine, not to mention Ronnie Corbett, who despite his diminutive size, more than ‘rose’ to the challenge! Last night then saw the beans at the pub…well, the Great British Pub Awards that is, hosted by the Morning Advertiser. Wading through a mountain of snacks and crisps and the odd stampede to meet the page 3 ‘stunner’ shipped in for the night, the Jellybeans had a great time and managed to rub shoulders with a few celebs, including food writer and broadcaster Nigel Barden, and stop the presses!!!! Legendary comedian Barry Cryer. (see photographic evidence!) Any it’s only Thursday – whatever next!?
